Spareribs
Serves 2-4
1.5 kg New Zealand pork ribs, cut in half horizontally
1 tablespoon ginger, roughly chopped
1 spring onion, roughly chopped
1 cup tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon hoison sauce
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 teaspoons ginger, chopped
1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
Cut the pork ribs into single ribs. Place in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add ginger and spring onion.
Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Strain and place in a baking dish.
Mix ketchup, sugar, hoison sauce, garlic, ginger and soy sauce and pour over the ribs. Toss well.
Place in oven preheated to 160°C for 30 - 40 minutes until glazed. |
